Five Things That Women REALLY Want from Men
We women really are crazy about you guys, but sometimes you do make us crazy (and I’m not
talking about in bed). If your woman’s happiness (and by extension, your own) is important to you, then here are five things you MUST know about what women really want in our relationships with you.
1. Romance
Please bring us a bunch of flowers now and then for no reason. Send a romantic card or pick up a thoughtful little gift. I really mean it: it’s not the money spent that matter here; it truly is the thought that counts. You can’t imagine how thrilling it is when you think of us when you don’t have to (e.g., birthdays, holidays). We don’t like to feel taken for granted and little gestures like these make us feel special to you.
2. Time
Something we treasure even more is time with you. Most of us lead incredibly overactive lives and don’t have huge chunks of free time to spend on long lazy days together. But please make an effort to make time for us on a regular basis. If we’re truly important to you, then spending time with us will be one of your top priorities. Don’t give us the feeling that we’re way down on your “to-do” list. Nurture a loving relationship with the gift of your time and it will grow. Neglect it and it may wither away.
3. To Be Part of Your Life
Don’t compartmentalize your relationship with us. It makes us feel insignificant if you separate us completely from other parts of your life. Introduce us to your friends and family if we matter to you. Otherwise we’ll start to wonder why you don’t – we’ll imagine we’re not that important to you if you don’t want the whole world to know about us! The flip side of this is that we want you to get to know our family and friends, to integrate you into our lives too.
4. Support without Criticism
When we tell you about a problem we’re having at work or with a child or friend, we appreciate it so much when you simply let us know that you’re there for us. Empathetic statements like “Wow, that must have really hurt your feelings” are what we need. Sometimes men like to jump in with an analysis and solution – you like to fix things. But if we don’t ask you for this specifically, it means that we’re just looking for assurance that we can count on you for emotional support; that you’re in our corner.
5. Your Confidence
Don’t be afraid to admit to us that you have feelings, that you have worries and fears and regrets. Let down your manly guard with us. We love you and we love knowing that you’re human. There’s nothing that enhances the feeling of intimacy for us more than to feel that we’re getting to know your heart and your soul; that you tell us things about yourself that you don’t share with anyone else. We know we’re not perfect, so your idiosyncrasies make you even more lovable to us.
These are pretty simple things; what they really amount to are appreciation and awareness of your partner. Incorporate them into your love relationships and your partners will absolutely cherish you
